Thanksgiving was what?

Thanksgiving was onolicious…now what?

If you are anything like me, you are probably already feeling the effects of your holiday meal..s. My body is in shock from all of the sugar and carbohydrates, and yes it was worth it, but now what? Hopefully, you did HIIT either the day before or the day of to kick your metabolism into overdrive. If you did not, then go do now. Right now and finish reading this when you come back.

You may recall from previous blogs that I am a huge believer in HIIT. I am not a fan of cardio, and I generally avoid it, but when I am cutting I do HIIT for real results. HIIT increases your metabolism for up to 48 hours!!! That alone makes it worth it! It takes less time to burn more calories than steady state cardio. I am selling the crap out of this. Better results in a shorter amount of time? Why not! Even better, you can do this at home with no equipment. Here is a simple and easy-to-remember HIIT workout

Mountain climbers

Jump tucks

High knees

Jump squats

You do every exercise for about 30 seconds as fast as you can. Rest depends on your level of cardio, but I would have the average person rest for 30 seconds. Now lets get to the new info.

It really isn’t rocket science. Fruits and vegetables are good for you. Eat them. Sometimes we need a little more specific info. Alright. Aside from the fact that both are high in water which helps to hydrate you and eliminate waste, each has a unique blend of vitamins and minerals to do even more for your body.

Kale helps support your entire detoxification system

Apples help to eliminate metals and food additives

Lemons excrete unwelcome substances

Pineapples cleanses the colon with bromelain

2 cups of stemless kale

¾ cup of almond milk

1 frozen banana

¼ cup of plain Greek yogurt

¼ cup of pineapple

¼ cup of apples

I hope I made my point, which is you don’t have to use this recipe, just increase your fruits and vegetables.

A couple more tips to help detox your body

Avocado on your toast for breakfast

Accompany with oat bran with flaxseeds

Handful of almonds

Brown rice

Kale smoothie

Vegetable curry

Saunas and Steam Rooms

Another great way to detox is to “sweat it out.” I enjoy steam rooms. It is a good opportunity to great some stretching in. Just stay safe and clean. Wear shoes (indoor shoes) and sit on a towel. =D

Great ready. We have a couple more holidays coming up
